Sway Poles are a popular aerial performance apparatus. Performers use sway poles to create dynamic movements and visually striking displays. They manipulate the flexible poles, causing them to bend and sway, while maintaining balance and control. The routines often involve spinning, swinging, and acrobatic maneuvers both on and around the poles. They require a great deal of skill and physical ability to perform successfully.

The poles are generally between 14 feet to 17 feet long depending on the weight of the performer. The bottom part is placed into a base and the performer hooks himself to a harness at the top. Using his weight and the flexibility of the pole the artist is then able to move and execute acrobatic figures that can range way over the initial foot print of the apparatus.
