Why our selection guide matters
Choosing the right sway pole is more than just picking a height; it’s about ensuring you buy the right tool for the job. A SwayTek kit is a large investment, and you want to be able to make the best of it. We designed different bases and accessories so that you can take the max out of it and for it to be easy for you.
How This Guide Helps You
- Understanding the Anatomy of a SwayTek kit; We help you understand each component you will be using
- Safety First: Performance safety is non-negotiable. Our guide provides clear Operational Safety Guidelines and Floor Clearance requirements to help you plan your venue layout and keep your performers secure.
Venue Compatibility: Whether you are performing in a low-ceiling dance studio or a high-wind outdoor coastal environment, our guide categorizes each pole by its Best Environment, ensuring your equipment is built for the elements it will face. - Tailored Performance: Different artists require different “flex.” Use the guide to compare the Max Capacity to find the pole that offers the exact resistance and rebound your choreography demands.
What can change?
Each basic sway pole kit is identical
What can change is:
- The lenght of the pole – according to the user weight
- The base – according to your needs
- What’s on top ; Anything is possible, if you want a unicorn instead of a harness, we can do it…
Quick Tips for Using the Table
- Check Your Clearance: Ensure your venue radius matches the “Floor Clearance” to avoid contact with walls or equipment.
- Monitor Your Weight: Remember that “Dynamic Weight” includes the force of movement, not just the static weight of the performer.
- Calibrate to Height: As you increase the height of your pole, pay close attention to the reduction in weight capacity and the change in the safe sway angle.
What is ... what? From top to bottom
- SwayTek Harness
- This is comfort – a harness that holds your tight, padded for comfort and with 2 Cobra Clips to clip you in for safety
- There are height adjustment holes – to compensate for weight difference in artists. Use it to adjust when a heavier or lighter artist use the pole at max and minimum height, or small adjustement when doing a syncronised choreo with multiple artists and poles
- Foot rest
- The Foot Rest is taped to avoid sliding, and has adjustable straps to keep your feet in when working those weight transfers.
- It’s ajustable in height according to your leg lenght
- THE SwayTek Swaypole
- The most important part – the pole. Incredibly strong, it cannot snap and will keep you safe, while flexing so much your relatives can’t watch.
- Teflon sleeve
- Instead of a bearing which you can’t control, we use the most slippery material there is to let the pole spin when it’s not bend too much, while lock rotation when bent, allowing weight transfers to better control the pole.
- Stainless Sleeve;
- This is the adapter into the base – this one moves and bends slightly to relieve the pole of some of it’s stress, while holding the Teflon that lets you spin.
- Base( not shown )
- Choose you base ans Sway!
